Read about it here. Um, I'm still on the fence about this one...it seems a bit scary that someone could know EXACTLY where you live from your blog.

Also from weblogcentral, this looks interesting but I didn't figure out the point of it in 10 seconds (short attention span) so I'll have to come back to it later.

Tuesday I have to do a "Coffee Talk" on blogs for the work folks, so hopefully I can have my MT blog lookin' spiffy by then. I'm not really sure about sharing my blog URL with work folks. I'm not sure that they need to know how weird I really am. *ponders it* I'll let you know what I decide. When I originally registered blueskyday.com, I had considered making it an anonymous blog and not telling ANYONE about it, but in the end, the need to be my true self all the time won over leading duel lives.

Oh, the joys of web site ownership. I am slowly sliding into geeky oblivion (or is that Bolivian?). I just spent the last hour trying to install MT on my new site, and I only got as far as uploading the zip file to the server. I just spent an hour trying to telnet or SSH into my server and all I get is error message after error message.

So I gave up and posted a message on the host's help board. Normally I would have said "fuck it", but I feel the the host must be doing something wrong and I am determined to prove that I was doing it right. And yes, I spend most of my workday around men and yes, I think the "I'm not wrong, dammit" attitude may be wearing off on me, don't you think?

At least my new e-mail works, yay!
What a Saturday! This afternoon, my Dad took us (me, Matt, Mom, and Patrick) on a 4-wheeling Jeep adventure up Fort Mountiain to see *snow*! The we ate Southern Style at Edna'a Restaurant in Chatsworth. No other meat 'n 3 veggies truckstop can compair to Edna's unassuming roadside diner. We cityfolk with our fancy sunglasses and leather coats certainly were a spectacle amongst the overall-wearing AARP crowd, but we didn't let the sideways glances hinder our enjoyment of Edna's award winning peanut butter pie!

I was looking forward to such a lovely weekend of relaxation, and THEN...I got a call from work. Neville, who was doing our weekend covereage, is in the hospital with possible appendicitis! So right now I'm sitting in the office, 10:20, on a Saturday night and I'll have to work most of the day tomorrow. :( That's ok...I'm glad I can be here to help Neville out! I would certainly hope that someone would be there to back me up if the same happend to me. And in the grand scheme of things, I'm really lucky to have this job in the first place.

But damn, I really needed some rest! I've worked the past 2 weekends! Now don't get all excited...I get Thursday and Friday off when I work weekends (well, except this one!) Our little news team has to have someone working every weekend. The news doesn't stop happening on Friday, you know!

C'est la vie. I'm glad I got out and about when I could!

What's happinin'! I haven't written here in a while, I know. For shame! For shame! I've been dreaming about a new blog and have ignored my current one in the process. I am inpired by the many components of this blog - Ain't Too Proud to Blog.

I've also been working a LOT lately, which is a good thing (money, yay!), but it doesn't leave energy for much else. I had to work this past weekend and I have to work on Christmas and New Years. Sucky, I know, but at least I get to work from home and I get paid extra.

Not so Dumb - The Power of Being Blond

Ta ta for now!

Bleh, feelin' sick. Probably the weather. Or could be that beer-laden chili that Matt made.

Just talked to my mom. They had to put my cat, Scratch, to sleep. He was 13 years and had contracted some sort of feline virus. He had lost a lot of weight because his throat muscles were destroyed and he couldn't swallow anymore. Rather than have him live the rest of his life with a tube down his throat in a vet's office, we agreed that he had a good life and shouldn't have to suffer. It's never an easy decision to make. He looked so bad that I couldn't really argue, anyway.

Angus, a memoir of a jack russell terrier, is a great read for anyone dealing with the death of a pet. As one reviewer put it, "This may be a book written from the mind of a 'dying dog,' but it is really a celebration of life, and deeply redemptive."
